There was talk this past week of creating a Divas tag team championship, but the last word we got is that the decision was made not to do it. It was for the Bellas, who creative has been told to devote more TV time to, and not for Phoenix & Natalya, who haven’t been together as much lately.

- Vince McMahon has ordered that The Bella Twins be made a priority, as far as having more TV time and being featured more, not necessarily when it comes to winning matches.

Vince feels that The Bellas have strong public relations value since they are twins. He lectured the WWE writing team recently about how they’ve blown so many easy storylines with the twins angle.

During AfterBuzzTV.com’s post-show for Monday’s Raw SuperShow, former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis took a Triple H-like swipe at former colleagues Nikki and Brie Bella.

Former WWE creative writer Jensen Karp recalled producing a backstage segment involving the word “labiagytis” (on the May 1, 2006 Raw, Candice Michelle asked Vince McMahon in he could cure her labiagytis after he had cured her chest cold). While the program hosts segued to discussion over the Divas tag team match on Raw, Kanellis quipped, “Speaking of labiagytis, The Bellas…”

Kanellis then joked that she was merely kidding, but that she “couldn’t help it.”

This is not Kanellis’ first swipe toward the twin duo on the talk program as she implied on October 10, 2011 that they once shared a hot tub with John Laurinaitis, referring them as “two Divas who look alike.” She took another veiled shot at the Bellas’ promiscuity the following week, which featured Nikki and Brie flirting with WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent Relations in a backstage segment.

While segueing, Kanellis said, “And the Bella Twins were in the back with Johnny, moving on…”

STAMFORD, CT – WWE, USA Network and NBC will honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces with the ninth annual holiday special, “WWE Tribute to the Troops” presented by Slim Jim. The program will air as a two-hour special on USA Network on Tuesday, December 13 (9-11 p.m. ET / 7-9 p.m. CT) and as a one-hour special on NBC on Saturday, December 17 (9-10 p.m. ET / 8-9 p.m. CT).

In the grand tradition of Bob Hope, the most patriotic holiday special of the year will feature performances by Grammy award winning R&B sensation Mary J. Blige, multi-platinum rock band Nickelback, comedian George Wallace, and WWE’s biggest Superstars and Divas for thousands of Fort Bragg military personnel and their families at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC. Miss USA 2011, Alyssa Campanella, will make a special appearance along with Extra’s Maria Menounos, who will lace up her boots and step into the ring for a special Diva’s match. The special will also include messages of encouragement and thanks from various celebrities such as Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Jackman, The Muppets, Robin Williams, Bradley Cooper and Nicole Kidman, among others.

In keeping with the spirit of “WWE Tribute to the Troops” and bringing a little piece of Americana to our service men and women overseas, the special will chronicle WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and Superstars Kofi Kingston, Brie Bella and Nikki Bella’s goodwill visit to our troops in Afghanistan, as well as WWE Superstars and Divas visit with the troops and families of Fort Bragg.

The Miami-Dade Sports Commission, in partnership with WWE, announced The WrestleMania 28 On-Sale Celebration is 7-10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Bayfront Park, Miami. The event is free to the public. The On-Sale Celebration marks the official kick-off for WrestleMania 28 on April 1 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens. Where WWE fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets beginning Nov. 5, those attending the On-Sale Celebration on Nov. 4 at Bayfront Park will have the first chance to buy tickets. The Celebration will feature appearances by WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio, WWE Divas Kelly Kelly, Brie and Nikki Bella and Rosa, as well as WWE Hall of Famers Sgt. Slaughter and Jimmy Mouth of the South Hart. A wristband will be required for Mysterio with a 200 person limit. Talent subject to change. The event will also feature a special appearance by local radio host Enrique Santos from Mix 98.3 FM, as well as live music by the All-Star Band. This free evening of activities will also feature a Family Fun Zone with appearances by local team mascots and inflatable games. The Miami-Dade Sports Commission and MIA Biscayne will also be hosting a VIP Party before and after the event. Recently, WWE Superstars Evan Bourne along with the Bella Twins (Brie and Nicole) showed up at the Boys and Girls Club in Santee, armed with a message for the children.

That message was that they could do anything they wanted to do in life if they just set a goal and then Go For It. The WWE partnered with Go For It Productions to bring this educational program to the children.

Evan Bourne talked to kids about how he first learned that anything he wanted to do could happen. He told a story of being a young child at a YMCA and legendary baseball player Ozzie Smith coming in to tell the kids there that anything they wanted to achieve was possible.

Bourne also went on to tell the children that in order to reach their goal they could not take shortcuts. They could not “skip chapters” along the way. They had to follow through with each step “even if it seemed insignificant at the time”.

He also noted that in fourth grade and his freshman year in high school he was the shortest child in his class. yet he never gave up his goal of wanting to become a wrestler for the WWE.

The Bella Twins then spoke to the students. The Bellas were born here in San Diego and one of them (Nikki) still resides locally in Pacific Beach.

Nikki Bella pointed out that when people told them they couldn’t do something, that just made them work even harder to prove that they could. They told the kids that they played soccer growing up (including locally at Grossmont College). Nikki was a “sweeper” on defense, while Brie was a “centerman” on offense.

They discussed how they played for 11 years straight and had to sacrifice having fun with friends in order to dedicate themselves to becoming better at soccer.

Nikki Bella closed the speaking by telling the kids that they should stick to their goals and never take no for an answer.

Evan Bourne joined the Bella Twins for a quick question and answer session with the students and then two students were awarded prizes for a WWE Poster Contest sponsored by Go For It Productions.

Students were allowed to create a WWE themed poster and one winner was chosen from two age categories (9 and under as well as 10 and up). Each winner received a pair of tickets to go see Monday Night Raw live at the Valley View Casino Center that evening, along with autographed pictures of the Bella Twins and Evan Bourne plus a T-shirt from WWE Superstar John Cena.

Following the assembly for the children a Press Conference was help upstairs. Vice-Mayor John Minto along with City Councilman “Mr. Santee” Rob McNelis were on hand to present an official Proclomation to the WWE declaring it WWE DAY in the City of Santee.

In addition, Andrea Jones from United States Congressman Duncan Hunter’s office presented a Congressional Recognition Certificate to the WWE in honor of it being WWE DAY in Santee.

The event was very successful and the children walked away knowing that any dream is possible if they set their goal and Go For It!
